Romantic Boho Wedding at Idaho Springs Wedding Venue

From including their dog in the day to Cassandra’s surprise haircut after the ceremony and their boho ceremony flowers, the couple made sure their day was full of unique details that completely reflected who they are as a couple. It was the perfect June day and their ceremony and reception were truly magic!

First Look with Dog

Cassandra got ready with her bridesmaids in the wedding loft at the Idaho Springs wedding venue. She wore a form-fitting satin dress with lace detailing and a see-through bodice. After she was ready, Cassandra did a first look with her dog, an adorable goldendoodle, then handed them off to a pet attendant so that they could watch the dog during the ceremony and reception.

Ceremony at Idaho Spring Wedding Venue

Cassandra and Jared got married on the ceremony deck at North Star Gatherings. They kept the ceremony decor simple, using two acrylic pillars to hold boho floral arrangements that had flowers in various shades of white, peach, and pink along with dried palm leaves. We loved this ceremony set up because the acrylic pillars didn’t take away from the beautiful view of the mountains. Instead of doing a traditional unity candle, Cassandra and Jared did a unity ‘plant potting’. They used soil from each of their childhood homes to fill a pot for a plant that they now keep in their home. After that, they exchanged vows and kissed, then had their dog run up the aisle to them so that they could exit the ceremony together which was so sweet!

Surprise Hair Cut

After the ceremony the couple took pictures with their family and bridal party. Cassandra’s bridesmaids wore mismatched dresses in various shades of green. Jared and the groomsmen wore navy suits with terracotta ties. We loved that color combo together! After they took couple’s portraits, Cassandra snuck away under the guise that she was changing dresses. She was actually getting her hair cut by her hairstylist and bridesmaid, Sidney. It was such a fun transformation and we loved seeing Jared’s reaction to her hair!

Reception in The Great Hall

Cassandra and Jared had a relatively small guest count for the Idaho Springs wedding venue, so our challenge was making a big space look intimate with a small number of people. We did that by arranging the tables diagonally which allowed us to spread them out to fill the space in the Great Hall while still leaving plenty of room for the dance floor.

The ceremony decor was boho with a touch of romance. The farm tables had see through white runners down the middle with greenery and white candles placed on top. There were also terracotta watercolor table numbers, pale pink napkins, and mismatched glassware to give it a boho feel.

Signing the Marriage License

The couple signed their marriage license during the reception. Cassandra purchased a beautiful marriage license that matched their theme off Etsy. However, they weren’t able to use that one since it wasn’t legally binding in Colorado, so we displayed the Etsy one so that it could still be enjoyed.

Moving Father of the Bride Speech

When guests entered the reception, Cassandra and Jared asked them to sign quilt squares which they’re going to use to make a quilt. We loved this unique guest book idea! Before dinner, Cassandra’s dad gave his speech. He had taken months to write it out, but once he arrived in Colorado, he realized he forgot his laptop which had the speech on it. He ended up having to rewrite it on the back of his itinerary on the day of the wedding. It ended up being an amazing speech! After dinner and toasts, the couple wrapped up the night by joining their guests on the dance floor.
