Adventure-Filled Wedding at Airbnb Wedding Venue in Colorado | Annie and Andy

Annie and Andy’s wedding was a day full of adventure at an Airbnb wedding venue in Colorado. From the story of how the couple met to the weather on their wedding day, each moment of their journey was filled with adventure. We love getting to help plan Airbnb weddings, so when Annie and Andy asked us to be a part of their day, we were so excited to say yes!

An Adventurous Meeting

Andy and Annie’s story starts off with adventure. They met in Sri Lanka on top of a mountain in the rain. Annie thought Andy talked too much, but they ended up hitting it off, so they kept in touch. Andy lived in London and Annie lived in Chicago when they met, so their love story spanned across the globe for a while. Since their relationship started with adventure, it was important that they tied that into their day.

When Annie & Andy came to us, they wanted to have a laid back, beautiful wedding that felt like a fun get together with family and friends. With Andy and his family being from New Zealand, this was the first time they would have everyone and one place, so they wanted to make sure they found the right spot to celebrate their marriage. They had a few ideas but needed help finding a venue for them to hold the day.

Their priorities were that they wanted mountain views/vibes and a space they could get lots of family time. We helped them narrow down their search and find this location to be their wedding venue. It was the perfect size and had the most incredible mountain views.

First Look in Front of the Mountains

Andy and Annie chose an Airbnb wedding venue in Colorado so that they could have a small wedding with their closest family and friends in the mountains. The couple did their first look on the overlook with a beautiful mountain view behind them. Annie wore a form fitting satin gown with a lace illusion bodice. She carried a bouquet full of cream and pink dahlias with other assorted flowers which gave it a boho look. Andy wore a tan houndstooth jacket and vest with brown pants. We loved the woodsy, mountain feel of Andy’s attire and how it contrasted with Annie’s delicate dress.

Ceremony at Airbnb Wedding Venue in Colorado

The couple exchanged vows outdoors on a vintage pink rug in front of the mountains. We loved how they kept it simple with no florals or arch so that guests could enjoy the views. They both mentioned in their vows how they always wanted to keep life an adventure which their wedding day definitely reflected. Shortly after they said I do and shared their first kiss as a married couple, the first rain/snow storm of the year passed through. Luckily everyone made it inside before it poured!

Moving the Reception Indoors

Since it rained, we had to move the reception indoors. We originally set up farm tables outside with white china, a green fabric runner, and small peach and pink floral arrangements, but since the weather turned, we served dinner in the living room. It goes to show it’s important to always have a back up plan! We were sad guests wouldn’t be able to enjoy the mountain views during dinner at the Airbnb wedding venue in Colorado, but knew we would still be able to make the night special for everyone.

Surprise Announcement During the Toasts

While the storm moved through, Annie and Andy had several toasts given by cherished family members and friends. The most memorable one of the night was when the couple announced that they were expecting their first baby! We loved getting to see their family and friends react to their exciting news on such a special day!

Celebrating Around the Fire

After the storm, everyone went outside and celebrated around the fire at the Airbnb wedding venue in Colorado. Annie and Andy were able to take advantage of the sunset and got some gorgeous golden hour photos. To wrap up the night, the couple chose a dessert bar with bite sized sweets for guests to enjoy.

Annie and Andy’s wedding at an Airbnb wedding venue in Colorado took an unexpected turn with the weather, but the couple made the most of it! As planners, we know it’s important to always have a backup plan. We were able to make a quick change so that the couple could still enjoy celebrating with their loved ones.
