Angela and Mike had the most perfect whimsical wildflower wedding at Evergreen Lake House over the summer! Their wedding took place on an overcast day in June, but that didn’t matter because the bright and colorful flowers brought the sunshine. This couple wanted a western wedding with whimsical touches and we loved how it all came together!
Embracing Colorado’s Beauty at Evergreen Lake House
Angelea and Mike are from Indiana, but they have a special connection to Colorado as that’s where Angelea is from. Their dream was to not only tie the knot in Colorado, but to also provide their out-of-town family and friends with a memorable experience surrounded by the state’s natural beauty. The couple chose to get married at Evergreen Lake House which is full of rustic mountain charm and provides a true Colorado wedding experience.
Whimsical, Yet Western, Bridal Look
To set a whimsical tone for the day, Angelea wore a beautiful A line tulle gown with floral lace detailing on the bodice. She paired her dress with the cutest pair of pastel blue cowboy boots and carried a stunning hand-tied bouquet full of pastel wildflowers. She was seriously a vision! Mike wore a vest, tie, and suit jacket paired with jeans and boots for the perfect western groom’s look.
Evergreen Lake House Wedding Ceremony
The couple opted for a morning wedding at Evergreen Lake House. They had a gorgeous outdoor ceremony on the deck overlooking the lake. For their ceremony backdrop, Angelea and Mike chose a grounded floral arch which featured wildflowers in various pastel shades and textures. The wildflowers paired beautifully with the breathtaking mountain scenery behind the couple. After a sentimental ceremony, the couple took some photos, then it was time to celebrate!
Whimsical Wildflower Reception
Angelea’s creative spirit shone throughout the wedding, adding a personal touch that made the day even more special. Her artistic talents were on full display, as she designed and hand-drew intricate details on the programs, menus, and signage. For their floral arrangements, Angelea wanted to continue the whimsical wildflower theme. On several of the tables, there were floral arrangements under glass domes which contained live butterflies. It was such a unique touch and guests loved getting to watch the butterflies during the reception!
A Brunch Wedding Like No Other
The couple’s shared love for trivia and breakfast foods set the tone for a truly extraordinary celebration. Since they had a morning wedding, they opted to do brunch for their meal and serve their favorite breakfast foods. They also love trivia, so instead of the traditional dance floor at Evergreen Lake House, they opted for a trivia brunch. The trivia questions were a mix of questions about the couple and pop culture which created a dynamic atmosphere filled with laughter and shared moments.
A Heartwarming Original Song
What truly set Angelea and Mike’s wedding apart was Angelea’s remarkable musical talent. As a heartfelt tribute to Mike, Angelea wrote an original song that she performed half way through the morning for the intimate group of family and friends. After spending time with their guests at Evergreen Lake House, the couple made a grand exit then headed to The Golden Mill to continue the celebration.
